Built by Hawker Aircraft Limited, 'Empire Quill' was paid for by the Stationery and Allied Trades Warplane Fund. Shipped to Egypt it was originally flown by an unknown unit as "Empire Quill", BP176 was captured by the Germans in Egypt in 1942 and later recaptured.
Fate[edit | edit source]
Attached to 1 Aircraft Delivery Unit, it tipped up on an engine run at Wadi Halfa during 13 February 1943 and was damaged beyond repair.
