D4545 17 G97

Captured Albatros D4545/17 in RFC markings.

D4545/17 was an Albatross DV.

History

This Albatros was brought down near Bethure on 5 December 1917[1] as a consequence of AA fire (which must have been relatively light as there is little damage evident). The pilot was Vzfw. Max Wackwitz of Jasta 24. The aircraft was then given an RFC capture number - G97.[2]
