History[edit | edit source]
Ordered under Contract No 402278/35 to spec 38/34, and built as c/n F2604, K8422 was assigned to HMS Eagle as aircraft 4H. On 4 September 1940 the aircraft was lost on a raid against Maritza airfield, Rhodes. Captured and made serviceable, while the crew were all taken POW by Italians, K8422 was flown by 68th squadriglia/34th Gruppo Bombardamento for liaison duties until June 1941, when spare parts from the aircraft were used to keep Swordfish K8403 serviceable till mid 1941.
The ultimate fate of the aircraft is unknown, but it was most likely scrapped.
