History

Built by Sopwith Aviation, this aircraft served with 8 Naval Squadron, 10 Naval Squadron,^{[N 2]} and 1 Naval Squadron

While being flown by Flt. Sub-Lt J.R. Wilford of Naval 1 on 13 September 1917, this aircraft was forced down by German pilot Kurt Wüsthoff (as his 15th victory). Following capture, this Tripe was painted over with German markings.^[2]

↑ When N was reused as a serial prefix in the late 1930s, N5429 was allocated to a Miles M.14A Magister I^[1]
↑ During it's service with 10 Naval Squadron, N5429 was used by H W Taylor to claim two enemy aircraft shot down.^[3]
