History[]

Ordered under contract No 963679/38 to spec 38/34[3] and assigned to HMS Ark Royal, P4127 was involved in a bombing raid on Cagliari, Sardinia. Hit by ack ack, the aircraft force-landed on an enemy airfield. The crew were taken POW and the aircraft captured intact. Repaired by Caproni at Elmas, and fitted with an Alfa Romeo 125 engine, it was then taken to the Stabilimento Construzioni Aeronautiche, Guidonia on 27 February 1941, and was still listed as being there on 6 April 1942.[1]
