History[]
Built by Arado at Warnemünde,[2] 145843 was allocated to Ufz. Heinz Ehrhardt, who mistakenly landed in England. [N 1] Piloted by J. A. Storrar (?). Farnborough, on 15 July 1943, this aircraft was soon sporting an 'A' scheme finish of Dark Earth/Dark Green/Yellow, and had RAF serial applied.[N 2]
On 7th February 1944, the aircraft was used by AFDU pilot Leonard Thorne for a 30 minute comparative flight against Mustang III FZ107, followed by similar flights with a Tempest on the 10th, and a Spitfire on the 29th.[3]
