History[edit | edit source]

Listed in LEMB Archive as the personal aircraft of Heinrich Himmler.[N 1]

Following it's capture at Flensburg, this aircraft was flown in the UK as Air Min 94, only to be scrapped at Farnborough in 1946.[1]

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. Luftwaffe Warplane Survivors states Himmler - and later Grand Admiral Doenitz - used the future Air Min 96. To further complicate matters, Eric Brown's book Wings of the Luftwaffe identifies Himmler's aircraft as Werk Nr 137, with page 15 of Brown's book, as well as page 110 of the Putnam book German Aircraft of the Second World War, describing this example as the sole Fw 200C-4/U-1 built!
